Young Musicians

Bursary Scheme

Trust Music operates a Bursary Scheme for Bolton Music Service pupils. The scheme enables the Service’s young people and their families/carers to apply for funding over one year, or more, to help with the continuing costs of lessons, instruments, exam fees, ensemble membership, workshops and other activities. The scheme is designed to support those families most in need and is means tested.

Each case will be considered on its own merit and at the discretion of the Trustees. If your application is successful, a proportion or the whole of a claim may be paid as this is dependent on the number of claims made to the fund. Funds are limited and there are only a small number of bursaries available each year so each child/family can only apply once a year

The Trustees meet four times a year and the applications will normally be reviewed at these meetings, if however, the bursary is needed before the next meeting then your application may be reviewed earlier. The decision of the Trustee Bursary Committee is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
